Visitors & Duke Gardens

Over the weekend our good friends from Virginia came to visit. We haven't seen them in years and were glad to have them stay with us for the weekend. They have a 3 year old boy (Aidan) and twin girls (Riley & Emery), the boys enjoyed having a sleepover. I am sure after a weekend of being malled, the twins are glad to be home. The boys absolutely loved having girls in the house for the weekend, especially Braxton.

We took them out for Carolina BBQ, then to see Duke Gardens and Duke Chapel.

The Palmer's
Kaden & Aidan following the ducks
Landon smelling the flowers
The boys rolling down the hill
The Octopus Tree
As you can see we had a wonderful time!

Thanks for coming to visit, you are welcome anytime!

1..2..3..4..I declare a Balloon War!

On saturday we had another wonderful spring day and wanted so badly to get wet. Since the pool is not open yet we decided to have a water balloon fight. It was so FUN! The boys loved it! After the water balloon fight we let the boys run through the sprinkler while we washed our cars.

1..2..3..4...It's a balloon WAR!
GO..FIGHT..WIN!

Easter

We started our Easter celebration on Saturday by having an egg hunt in on yard. It was such a perfect spring day. The boyz loved searching for the eggs and of course eating the candy.

Braxton was the ULTIMATE egg hunter, finding the most eggs.

Ethan came in a close SECOND, with his determination to get as many as Braxton.

Kaden was THIRD, it might have been because of his short stature and his inability to see the higher ones.

Landon came in LAST, but not because of effort, more because of speed.

We finished our night by coloring eggs and setting out our traditional CARROTS and DIET COKE.

I hope you all had a wonderful and HAPPY EASTER!

Our Lucky Charm & Baptism...

Today our little guy turned TWO.
What an amazing kid!
He finds joy in life's imperfections and makes us want to do the same.
He has the determination to succeed beyond expectations.
And he is full of happiness.

"Our Lucky Charm"
so adorable

some of his favorite gifts (sunglasses & lawnmower)

Braxton's Baptism

Braxton was baptized on saturday. He was able to have Grandpa and Grandma come for his special day. Thanks to all of you who supported Braxton and our family, we are glad you could be a part of it.

Umstead Park...

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. We decided to take full advantage of it and go for a hike in Umstead Park. It felt so good to be outside and see the boys have so much fun. We even took a picnic.
Ethan found this rock about 1/4 of the way in and was so determined to carry it the whole way. We hiked about 3 miles and he carried it the whole way. I don't understand what it is with boys and their rocks & sticks, there must be something special that I can't see.
Landon rode in the backpack the whole way and loved it. He also found joy in playing with a stick. 100% Boy!
I just loved being out and enjoying the beautiful outdoors with my family.

From Baby to Toddler...

Since society says a baby becomes a toddler at the age of two, my baby will no longer be a baby very very soon. In just over 2 weeks, Landon will be considered a toddler.

This being the case, Evan and I decided it was time to make him look more like a toddler, so we said goodbye to his long curls.

One more look at those beautiful curls...
Before
During (goodbye baby)
After (hello toddler)
About half way through the haircut, Evan & I thought we made the biggest mistake ever, but we changed our minds as soon as we saw this handsome "toddler" smile at us. Isn't he ADORABLE!

Family Night...

We have never been real consistent on family home evening, especially with Evan's inconsistent schedule, but we have been trying.
Evan's dad and mom were nice enough to find this book at the DI and sent it out to us, so for the past three weeks we have been reading at least a chapter for our family home evening. We all take turns reading (except Landon of course).
our treat....yum!
Ethan was in charge, so he chose our treat and even helped make them. He did an awesome job, they were delicious!
